VALENTINE’S DAY IN VELVET

If you were born in the 80’s, you probably have a family/school/holiday photo of the childhood version of yourself in some sort of velvet get-up (complete with a matching hair bow, if you’re me). And due to the trauma of living through this trend (thanks, Mom!) it took me almost 30 years to finally give velvet a go a second time. And my oh my, what I’ve missed.

Long gone are the days of stuffy/stretchy velvet pieces that make you so sweaty you can’t actually enjoy yourself. Hello to flowy details, off the shoulder cuts, and velvet accents that are just the right amount of feminine.

My husband and I are keeping things low-key this Valentine’s Day, with a dinner date night out in Boston.
